Student Apps
On this page you will find links to the recommended on-line learning resorces.
MyChildAtSchool (MCAS)
Students will have access to the app, MyChildAtSchool (MCAS), that they can log into on their phones (available from Google Play and Apple App Store - please search for Bromcom Student App). It can also be accessed via the webpage:
https://www.bromcomvle.com/?schoolid=14641
You will be given access to this once school resumes in September.
SPARX reader
Sparx Reader is an online platform that English use as a weekly homework. We expect students to read enough to achieve 300 Sparx Reader Points weekly; this would be building on this pivotal skill that they learnt in KS2.
In their first two weeks of each September, they carry out a test that determines their reading age; from there, they are offered a selection of books that are achievable for their reading age. They read the book pages in progressively longer sections. After each section, they do quizzes that determine their ability at retrieval of what they have read. The aim of this online reading tool is to encourage students to become careful readers – not quick readers. They got more points for getting quizzes right the first time; the more attempts they make, the number of points decreases. Again, this reinforces the skill of careful reading. Lots of prizes are available during the year and also over years 7–9 for their success in this homework. The library is open every break and lunch, so if they do not have access to a device at home, they can do their homework during the school day. Furthermore, the library is open from 3:15–4.15 for a daily homework club, so if your child is able to get home later, they can use the library to do their Sparx Reader after school.
IDL Literacy & Numeracy

Satchel:One (Formerly Show my Homework)
The ease-of-use and accessibility gives students a clear picture, allowing them to prioritise their workload and stay organised using their personalised calendar, to-do list and email reminders.
We like to ensure you that homework is set effectively across the school, with statistics available by year, class, teacher and subject. Teachers set homework in advance, using an abundance of resources, and even automatic grading and feedback.
For parents who wish to take a more active role in their children’s home learning, they can by having their own Satchel:One/Show My Homework account. We've given ‘power’ back to parents. They can now take a more proactive role in driving homework prioritisation, keeping tabs on homework without being intrusive. Parents are given an individual code for each child and if the code needs sending again or more help needed in accessing Satchel:One then email: satchelone@stclementshigh.org.uk
