The Queen Mother's Handwriting Awards

Would you like to take part in Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother’s Handwriting Awards - Entries Close - 9am Monday 27th June 2016
Her Majesty The Queen has kindly consented to the Society continuing with the popular Handwriting Competition to be organised in memory of Her Majesty The Queen Mother.
 
This competition is open to all boys and girls of school age living or attending schools, within the Counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Leicestershire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire and Peterborough. The competition is administered by the East of England Agricultural Society in Key Stages 1 to 3.
 

The three judges, who volunteer their time, are past heads of schools, also select the poems for copying. These poems are carefully selected to include an increased level of punctuation, length of line and overall content for each class.

When choosing the winning entries the judges look in detail for correct copying of the poem, the formation of letters and words, correct positioning of punctuation and the overall presentation. 

Copies of the winning entries will be displayed at the Autumn Food and Country Fair which is being held on the Peterborough Showground in October.  All winners will be sent a family ticket so they can visit the show and see a copy of their winning entry on display as well as enjoying the show.

 
The 1st Prize winner will receive a Cross pen kindly donated by A T Cross Ltd engraved with their name.
The 2nd, 3rd and Highly Commended winner with be awarded a certificate to commemorate their success.
 
Arrangements will be made with the prize winners' school for a Director of the East of England Agricultural Society to attend the school to present the prize.
 
Prize winning entries only will be returned.
